What people say about us
“
MCG Careers has been a valuable partner to our company by offering pre-employment training that prepared candidates for the workforce. Their focus on the job-specific skills helps make participants more capable and attractive as potential employees. I believe this program is highly beneficial for individuals entering or re-entering the workforce, as it builds confidence for both employees and employers.

With the help of the wage subsidy program and the dedication of the individuals MCG Careers connected us with, our business has grown more than we ever expected. In fact, we were able to open a second location — something that would not have been possible without that extra support and encouragement.

Questions?
We’ve got answers
Is there a cost to access Employer Advantage services?
Employer Advantage services are provided at no cost. The program is funded by the Government of Alberta to help employers strengthen their workforce, address hiring challenges, and connect with the people and resources they need.
There are no membership fees, hidden costs, or obligations. You can use as much or as little support as your business needs.
Are we obligated to hire candidates through this service?
No, there is no obligation to hire specific candidates. Employer Advantage is here to support your workforce needs, not pressure you into hiring.
You decide if, when and who you hire. We can help you connect with potential candidates, but every hiring decision remains yours.
Who can access these services?
Employer Advantage is available to Calgary and Red Deer employers of all sizes and across all industries. Whether you are a small business hiring your first employee, a growing company building your team or an established organization looking for workforce solutions, you can access our services.
You do not need to be actively hiring to connect with us, as we also assist with workforce planning, job design, recruitment practices, employee development and retention.
Federal and provincial government bodies or Crown corporations are not eligible.
What specific types of support do you provide?
Employer Advantage provides practical support in five main areas:
- Job Design — help with job roles, job descriptions, skills requirements, and workplace accommodations.
- Recruitment & Screening — support finding ideal candidates, screening applicants and strengthening your hiring and onboarding processes.
- Labour Market Information — insights on wages, hiring trends, available talent, and skills shortages.
- Resources & Funding Navigation — help accessing wage subsidies, training grants, workplace supports and other resources available to employers.
- Employment Promotion — opportunities to promote vacancies through our job board, and connect with job seekers through job fairs, hiring events and community networks.
How do we get started?
Getting started is easy. Contact Employer Advantage and tell us a little about your business and the support you’re looking for. Your initial consultation will take 30–60 minutes as we work with you to map out your priorities.
Next, our Employer Consultants will work with you to develop a service plan, completely customized to your business.
